Sure, Diebold
voting systems have been easily hacked again[1] and again[2]. Sure, they use the same hotel mini-bar key[3] for all of them.
Sure, they posted the
key online[4] so folks could make their own at home. Sure, they
leave their poorly written source code on the Internet[5] for folks to
download and study it. And, sure, there are many videos (e.g., here[6]
and here[7]) to help you through those final steps, in order to successfully
hack them yourself.
Still, there's
nothing like hands-on practice, in the privacy of your home, to make sure you
get everything just right before the big day comes. So, might we suggest this
lovely new Diebold/Premier Accuvote OSx voting system, currently available to the highest bidder at eBay[8]?
NH RECOUNT/ Manchester Ward 5: INFLATED VOTE TOTALS
Sunday, 27 April 2008
Jeannie Dean, of "Video the Vote", Sarasota, Florida, was my
"shotgun" passenger when I was in New Hampshire twice in January and
February of this year, helping Bev Harris & her team monitor the
New Hampshire recount. On our first day together, Jeannie and I chased
"Butch and Hoppy", two state employees who picked up ballots in their
van from the various NH towns & cities; Later, back in Concord,
Jeannie was an observor of the hand recounting of Republican
ballots from the city of Manchester, Ward 5, where she was able to
discern later that original vote totals from Primary election night
were inflated, compared to the final hand-recounted numbers she
witnessed while observing. This YouTube tells the story ~ Vickie
April 27, 2008 - Hello from Vote Rescue Radio - Where Citizens Count, One Vote at a Time!
Sunday, 27 April 2008
This Sunday, April 27th, from 2-4pm CDT, VoteRescue Radio is happy to welcome back our wonderful returning guests Marj Creech and Paddy Shaffer,
both valiant election activists from Ohio, who traveled to Pennsylvania
to help conduct exit polls there for their primary election last
Tuesday, April 22nd. We'll get their take on the exit polling process
there, complete with their serendipitous path-crossing with Richard
Hayes Phillips whose book, "Witness to a Crime", is now published and
available to purchase (regarding how the Presidential election was
stolen in Ohio in 2004; Richard was also twice a guest on VoteRescue
Radio).
BBV report: FINALLY: Someone is telling the U.S. Government where to put its e-voting
Sunday, 27 April 2008
Black Box Voting was invited to submit comments into the record for the
United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Round Table, which
featured and agenda entirely devoted to a what is basically a
celebration of computerized vote-counting. We took this opportunity to
tell it like it is.
To
our great surprise and joy, so did others, including Dr. Rebecca
Mercuri and Brad Friedman. Portions of some of their testimony will
follow. Here are the formal comments from Black Box Voting:
Hello from Vote Rescue Radio - Where Citizens Count, One Vote at a Time!
Saturday, 05 April 2008
This Sunday, April 6th, from 2-4pm CDT, Karen
Renick & I will be continuing our focus on Texas elections, and
news about Hart InterCivic and the William Singer whistleblower
lawsuit. We'll report on VoteRescue's appearance at the "Public
Hearing" this past Thursday at the Texas Secretary of State's State
Division of Elections office as they heard and videotaped our comments
regarding the possible upcoming certification of Hart's software
version 6.2.1. With a copy of the Singer lawsuit in hand, we were armed
and loaded for bear at that hearing!
We'll also be talking more about (one of) the other
lawsuits against the Texas Secretary of State's office and the Travis
County Clerk Dana Debeauvoir filed in June 2006 by David Van Os, former
candidate for Texas Attorney General; Nelson Linder, President of the
NAACP in Austin; the NAACP; and citizen Sonya Sontana, in an attempt to
stop the use of the Hart InterCivic E-Slate machines in Travis
County. It alleges that various
sections of the Texas Election Code and Texas State Constitution have
been violated by the SoS' approval of the Hart Intercivic e-Slate (as
well as, the Hart E-Scan and the Diebold and ES&S DREs and scanner
systems although they are not a part of this lawsuit) for use by Texas
voters.
It may
be "just us" talking tomorrow, and we will have more time to take
callers, something we haven't done enough of lately with all the
interviews we squeeze in.
