July 2 - 6, 2008: Vickie and Abbe presented talks on electronic voting on July 4th at the "Revolution 4 Freedom Festival" in Sturgis, SD, at the Lamphere Ranch Campground. Presentation on "Electronic Voting: Problems and Solutions" on July 4th; July 5th, held a citizens workshop on how to take back our elections July 1, 2008: Vickie and Abbe on Allan Handelman's FM Talk 101.1, WZTK, Triad and Triangle, NC, 5pm CDT June 25, 2008: Vickie and Abbe will both be presenting statements to the Texas Legislature's House Committee on Elections Interim Hearing on Electronic Voting. The Hearing will take place at the Capitol at 11th and Congress in Austin, Texas, beginning at 9 am in room E2.028, and going probably all day. Vickie will be making a statement about why "paper trails" cannot be trusted to verify our votes, and why we "can't count on a recount". Abbe will be talking about why audits cannot be trusted to verify election results after the fact. We are also helping VoteRescue and our Coalition, Texans for REAL Elections, to sponsor a breakfast and a reception at the Capitol for Texas County Clerks and Election Officials to meet experts we (or the Committee) have invited from out of state to testify that day: Bruce Funk, former elections administrator from Emery County, Utah, who was fired after inviting in the "Black Box Voting hacking team" to examine his Diebold optical scan counters, with printers added; Clint Curtis, a Florida programmer who designed "vote-flipping software" to be used in electronic voting machines, then turned "whistleblower" and gave a court deposition to that effect; Jim March, Black Box Voting Board member and techonology expert who will discuss why federal certification of electronic voting systems is totally untrustworthy; and Noel Runyan, a blind technology expert who did the "accessibility study" for the University of California last year concluding that NONE of the electronic voting systems fulfill the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) mandate that demands one voting system per precinct be present that would allow the blind/disabled to vote without assistance. June 14, 2008: Vickie presented a talk to the "Yellow Dog Democrats", an Austin group, to inform about updates on evidence against electronic voting and about the Hart InterCivic "whistleblower" lawsuit, a federal fraud lawsuit brought against Hart, a major vendor of electronic voting machines, for fraud and lying to election officials to sell electronic voting equipment. (Hart is used in Austin and Travis County.) June 29, 2005 - Helped produce the "Election Assistance Hearing" in Houston Texas with Houston election reform activist Kip Humphrey, a citizens hearing of evidence about electronic voting machine fraud and voter disenfranchisement December 12, 2004 - Karp and DeLozier spoke at "51 Capital March" Rally at the Capitol, Austin, Texas, in protest of the fraudulent 2004 Presidential election. This was one of 34 simultaneous rallies that occurred that day across the country. September 22, 2004 - Produced two press conferences in Washington, D.C. one of which took place at the National Press Club, entitled: "Hacking the Presidency: A Bi-Partisan Problem, Anyone Can Do It". Two computer experts demonstrated six ways to hack an election using the software of two of the top four electronic voting machine vendors, Diebold and Sequoia. Members of most of the mainstream media attended. July 12, 2004 - Produced a press conference at the Austin Capitol entitled "The Computer Ate My Vote", one of 18 simultaneous events held across the country, in conjunction with Common Cause, True Majority, and MoveOn.org. Petitions with tens of thousands of Texans names protesting electronic voting were produced and delivered to the Texas Secretary of State Geoffrey Conner. |
